The aim of the game in Blackjack is to create a hand of cards that is as close in value to 21 as possible but without exceeding it, which is known as going bust. The best possible hand is Blackjack and it is comprised of an Ace and a Ten card. As long as the player’s hand is closer to 21 than the dealer’s then the player wins the round.
In Blackjack the face cards (King, Queen and Jack) are all worth 10 while the number cards are worth their face values. The only exceptional card is an Ace which can be both 1 and 11.
Winning hands are mainly paid out at 1:1. The exception is Blackjack which pays out at 3:2. Insurance pays out at 2:1 while if there is a tie the original bet is returned.
It is possible to play up to three hands simultaneously in Blackjack Pro. At the beginning of each round you need to place your chips in areas marked ‘Place Your Bets’ to activate each hand.
Once you are happy with your bets you click on ‘Deal’ and will receive two face up cards to each active hand. The dealer will also be dealt cards, one face up and the other facedown. If the dealer’s face up card is an Ace then it is possible to place an insurance bet against Blackjack. If the dealer then has Blackjack it is paid out at 2:1.
For each hand you then need do decide whether to ‘Hit’ (receive an additional card) or ‘Stand’ (leave the hand as it is). There is also the option to ‘Double’, this will double the bet and draw another card from the pack. If your two cards are the same then it is possible to choose ‘Split’. This separates the cards into two separate hands that are then played individually.
Once you are happy with each hand the dealer will reveal their card and play their hand. The dealer will always draw to 16 and stand on 17. Once the dealer’s hand is complete all bets are paid out and the next round begins.
